The What? So what is This Borrowed Home? Well, simply put, it's a stepping stone. Our "borrowed" home is not our final destination, but rather a pit stop on this ride we call life.
In a sense, many of us are living in "borrowed" houses. Whether you're living in an apartment, a flip home while preparing it for potential buyers, or in your "not so" forever home, you are borrowing your space and enjoying it until it's time to move on. If you really want to dig deeper, the space we occupy here on Earth is essentially borrowed too! I mean, when we enter this world, we are not guaranteed permanence here. We are living on borrowed time and making the most of it while we are here. Ok Tanieka, enough philosophy for now. Let's get back to the topic at hand:
The Why?
This blog is an extension of my Instagram account (@thisborrowedhome). I began my Instagram account last year to document the stages of turning our current "borrowed house" into a home. By "our" I mean myself, my high-school sweetheart turned fiancé, and our 4 year old son.
I have been toying with, and sitting on the idea of a blog for ages now. I finally decided that I could be waiting forever if I'm waiting for the "right moment" to hit publish. I'm the type that wants everything to be juuuuust right before showcasing something. But who decides whats perfect? I took a huge leap, despite not being "ready', and I have no regrets! I have arrived! (With an empty suitcase, and zero funds).
So here I am, attempting to catch you all up on what I've been up to in this borrowed home. Most of you have probably been following our home journey since I began my Instagram account. So you're already in the loop! But for those of you who are fairly new, I'll start at the beginning...
