In my last post, I left you with a long list of To Do’s for this space. Well, I've since checked off a few tasks. I’m happy to report that I was able to have our bathroom 80% done by the time guests arrived for our gathering last Saturday. The most obvious update being paint! Yes, our bathroom has gone green! (In the literal sense that is.) Oh how the power of paint never ceases to amaze me!
Before Paint:
After Paint:
I worked my tail off last Friday evening prepping for paint after work. I removed the old hooks and fixtures I'd be replacing, and filled all the holes. I sanded the previously patched spots this bathroom had been rocking for several months. I patched the holes peeking from behind our vintage mirror where the previous mirror hung. I removed the old toilet paper holder in preparation for it’s cool more beautiful successor. After everything had been patched and sanded, I primed the entire space. Paint took place next. I went with my initial gut instinct and painted everything green: trim, walls, and ceiling. I have to say, I couldn't be more pleased with that decision. Enveloping this small space in one color instantly upped the drama factor and created a sophistication that I never thought it could possess. The color is Daily Greens by Clare.
The paint decision was made easy due to Clare's carefully curated and limited color selection. It can be so overwhelming picking a paint color, and thankfully Clare makes it easy by simplifying paint colors down to the very best options. I originally wanted to go with a brown tone to play off of the multicolored mosaic in the shower, but I'm so glad I steered away to green. The way the wood tones pop against the vibrant Daily Greens seals the deal.
We have clearly been living in (and loving) this space!
But be not mistaken, this is NOT a reveal.
There is more left to be done before declaring this room 'finished'. If you think this looks good, just wait until I get to my favorite part: decorating! Our bathroom may have gone green, but it's only 80% done. Here's what's left:
To Do:
Install Towel Hooks
Paint Shelves Green
Second Coat on Door/Touch Ups
Paint Closet?
Decorate!
Adding to this list of To Do’s is the big question of “To paint the closet, or not?”. Chime in over on my IG Stories to see my dilemma!
